Interview Guides provide the interviewer with advice and a structure to conduct effective interviews for both selection and development. SHL's interview guides center around the competencies for the specific job, providing the interviewer with the questions to ask and, more importantly, guidance as to how to score or assess the responses provided by the candidate.
Overview
This two-day course focuses on the development and use of competency based interview guides. In the first day, participants will learn how to administer an interview. During the second day, they will learn how to develop an interview based on competencies for a job. By the end of the course, each participant will have developed and used an actual interview for a job in their organization. They will have the tools and resources through SHL's interview library and Competency Model to develop additional Competency Based Interviews for any job their organization.

- Improve hiring success rates
- Understand how competencies are measured
- Understand difference between objective versus non-objective questions
- Understand the different types of structured interview questions and their applications
- Practice creating different types of questions and anchors based on competencies.
