SHL has developed guidelines for the distribution of materials and services that are available through SHL. Given the potential for misuse – including well-intentioned inadvertent misuse – of psychological materials, the purpose of these guidelines are to inform users of these materials on the competencies needed to implement these materials in a professional manner. In setting these guidelines, SHL attempts to reflect the intent of the ethical guidelines established by the American Psychological Association, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, as well as those published in the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing by the American Educational Research Association, the American Psychological Association and the National Council on Measurement in Education (APA Standards).
