General Abilities Profile (GAP)

Overview:

The General Abilities Profile (GAP) is suitable for career guidance and counselling, and forms part of the AIMS (Ability, Interests, Motivation and Style (Personality)) portfolio, which is a flexible modular package used to facilitate career decision making.

GAP consists of an integrated set of 12 ability tests arranged at three educational levels, suitable for comprehensive career guidance and assessment. These levels are known as Series 1, 2 and 3, described in more detail below, and focus on the core skills of verbal, numerical and diagrammatic reasoning (known as the Core Skills module).

GAP also presents a Specific Skills module, relating to checking spatial and mechanical skills, suitable for all levels, if appropriate.

Suitable for:

Selection as well as candidates requiring career guidance and counselling. GCSE Standard (Series 1), 'A' Level or equivalent (Series2) and Graduates Standard (Series 3).
