Comprehensive - The Competency Framework provides a mechanism that can effectively describe the key behaviours that drive performance in virtually any job in any organization.
Flexible - All existing SHL and client models can be mapped onto the SHL Competency Framework. The framework therefore provides a common set of building blocks from which any competency model can be built.
International - The competency cards and database have been shown to be particularly effective when working with multi-national management/professional groups where English is not the first language, and where more involved job analytical techniques such as rep-grids would probably be less effective. The language used has been carefully monitored to ensure that any UK specific terminology has been removed.
Current - The Competency Framework is a recent development (2000 onwards), so is up-to-date and reflects current thinking with respect to the key behaviours that contribute to job success.
