I don’t think it’s an overreaction to say that the world has changed in the last three months. Beginning with our friends and colleagues in China, who first endured what those in other countries are only now fully comprehending, people everywhere have come to grips with simple daily activities that are now complex decisions: Buying groceries. Finding childcare. Shaking hands.
At SHL, people are truly at the heart of our business – our customers, our partners, the global business community, and of course our own employees as well. With the global impact of the COVID-19 outbreak becoming more and more widespread, I wanted to provide a brief update regarding SHL’s readiness to continue uninterrupted service to our clients as well as our commitment to serving the global talent management community as a whole.
First and foremost, we recognize the sudden reality of new and often inconvenient work patterns for millions around the world. Individually and organizationally, people are working in unfamiliar circumstances in order to combat the spreading of COVID-19. Thanks to our extensive investment in developing solutions and tools that enable virtual management of talent across the spectrum, SHL is positioned to support this new work reality, whether it proves to be temporary or long-term. Our virtual assessments, video interviewing capabilities, and talent management tools are readily available today.
To ensure we continue to deliver those products in an uninterrupted way, SHL has also implemented policies similar to those you are likely seeing in and around your workplace. We are following World Health Organization guidance and encouraging our employees to work from home where possible. We are using virtual tools to communicate with each other and with our customers, and we are making responsible decisions about where and how we engage with the marketplace. We are not only maintaining our existing product portfolio but—as you will see in coming days and weeks—we are continuing to innovate and bring new solutions to market as well.
