A Busy October of Events and Traveling Brought Inspiration to the SHL Team
SHL wins an award for Verify Interactive and brings a fresh perspective to the HR Tech and UNLEASH conferences.
The SHL team had a busy October! We started out the month at HR Tech Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas and ended with the World UNLEASH conference in Paris, which is an exciting opportunity for hundreds of HR Tech companies to showcase their best teams and products to attendees.
I noticed the floor was filled with conversations of innovative ideas, and, of course, there were specific concepts that dominate these events. This year, artificial intelligence (AI) and talent mobility were the topics of most interest, but even more so, it was clear in these conversations that many have not fully realized the potential that exists here.
These, of course, are not new concepts to this arena. Last year, similar themes buzzed around the exposition floor, but the conversation has evolved quickly as we continue to learn how AI is changing the game in HR. This year, the conversation has moved on to the outcomes AI can provide, including the efficiencies that could be gained by allowing HR teams to focus on value add while administrative tasks become automated through machine learning.

One of the highlights of the HR Tech conference was when SHL’s Verify Interactive was awarded a Top HR Product of 2019 by Human Resource Executive! Verify Interactive is a part of a suite of assessments that quantify critical talent factors like cognition, personality, and motivation, benchmarking results against the world’s most comprehensive talent database.
A major highlight of UNLEASH was the opportunity to participate in a segment for The Lorne Epstein Show where we talked about talent in the age of digital transformation, and how it impacts every job from someone at a large tech company to someone working in a small hometown bakery. We discussed ways businesses of all sizes can benefit from creating a talent strategy plan that thrives in an age of disruption.

And of course – the best part of any event is the opportunity to talk with people attending the conference! We offered the opportunity to demo Verify Interactive and the Occupational Personality Questionnaire, as well as learn about SHL’s new digital dashboard that utilizes AI to predict performance on an individual, team, and entire workforce mapped to specific business outcomes.
Our team had a blast talking to conference attendees and demonstrating the powerful capabilities of SHL’s technology & science to help businesses harness their greatest asset – people! We had so many meaningful conversations that the team and I left feeling very inspired.
