Q: What motivated you to pursue a career in Industrial and Organizational Psychology?

A: I was always interested in psychology and how businesses operate, but never heard of I/O psychology until I took an intro course my freshman year of college. The course content 'clicked' for me and I knew from that moment that I wanted a career in I/O. I enjoyed learning about the science of psychology in the workplace to ensure job satisfaction, motivation, productivity, fairness, etc. This ignited a passion in me to design systems around helping people to enjoy their work and realize their potential.

Q: Can you share a memorable project where you felt your contributions as an I/O psychologist had a particularly meaningful outcome?

A: The most meaningful project of my career has been supporting a technical talent development program, which helped internal (many frontline) employees who have a passion and aptitude for IT gain training/hands-on experience through a rigorous rotational program. I had the pleasure of not only designing robust selection and evaluation systems for the program but also guiding participants on the journey in landing their dream job in technology, which transformed their careers and even their personal lives.

Q: Have you pursued any certifications or additional training to enhance your skills as an I/O psychologist?

A: I have pursued coaching, change management, data analytics and scrum master certifications which have opened my eyes to the various applications of I/O psychology.
