SHL provides an environment that truly encourages learning. Whether it’s access to internal knowledge sessions, mentorship from senior engineers, or the freedom to experiment with new technologies, I’ve always felt supported in exploring and growing my skill set. I made the most of my opportunities to lead key integration projects and drive backend refactoring initiatives. These projects have not only challenged me technically but also helped me demonstrate ownership and initiative. I identified opportunities by being proactive, understanding business needs, volunteering for complex tasks, and observing where I could add the most value to my team.
How has your career grown since you joined?
My journey at SHL has been incredibly rewarding, both professionally and personally. I’ve had the opportunity to work on impactful projects, take ownership of core systems, and collaborate with some very talented people. The growth I’ve experienced here goes beyond technical skills, it’s changed my mindset as an engineer, problem-solver and team player.
What perks and benefits do you appreciate most?
I really appreciate the flexibility and work-from-home opportunities that help maintain a healthy balance between work and personal life. SHL also knows how to keep the fun alive – from amazing parties to active sports clubs for cricket, badminton and football – there’s always something to look forward to beyond work.
Is there a memorable moment you’ve shared with your team?
One of the most memorable moments was the launch of the CASPER microservice. It took months of effort, late nights, and constant team collaboration. Seeing everything come together successfully, and getting that recognition and pat on the back, made it all worth it.
