I saw it as a great opportunity to dive headfirst into the community

Talk us briefly through your career journey

I have an undergrad degree in Integrative Studies (Health Science & Communication focus). After graduating, I started a boxing gym once out of school and taught myself web design, SEO, and marketing strategies to promote the gym whilst also working as the head coach. I later moved into a sales & marketing role at an architecture firm, then later SHL.

What skills or experiences are you proud to have gained?

In my first quarter at SHL, I volunteered to represent our booth presence at SIOP 2022. While I had limited experience in the HR tech space at the time, I saw it as a great opportunity to dive headfirst into the community, learn more about SHL’s position in the market and engage with attendees and our I/O team.

What opportunities were available to you that you maximized on to progress?

Taking on the role I’m in now was a big ask considering I didn’t have a lot of marketing experience. SHL trusted me to take the baton and run. There were times when I stumbled along my journey, but there have always been supportive team members to help me become a better partner in marketing and as a person.

How would you describe the culture in a few words?

Collaborative, fast-paced, and helpful.

Is there a memorable moment that you’ve shared with your team?

Executing our first Connect event in New York City in 2025 was a great experience for us all. To be able to create an in-person event from scratch and have attendees actively engaged in making connections and learning about SHL was a great sight to see for me personally.
