Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and Cultural Intelligence (CQ) are crucial skills in today’s diverse workplace. EQ involves the ability to understand, manage, and express one’s own emotions, as well as recognize and influence the emotions of others and includes factors such as self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy. CQ on the other hand refers to the capability to relate and work effectively across cultures and includes factors such as drive, knowledge, strategy, action. Both EQ and CQ enhance workplace interactions and leadership. According to research, leaders with high EQ can build stronger relationships, reduce stress, and resolve conflicts effectively while those with high CQ can navigate and respect cultural differences, fostering an inclusive and innovative environment.
